HOW TO SET UP YOUR OWN FRN CLIENT/GATEWAY

1. DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL THE CLIENT >>> HERE.
2. RUN IT AND CLICK THE ID BUTTON.
3.FILL IN YOUR DETAILS AND CLICK GET PASSWORD.

4. YOUR PASSWORD WILL BE EMAILED AUTOMATICALLY, ENTER IT, CLICK APPLY, THEN CLICK OK.

You can now use the client to talk to other users, just click on the icon
select a server and room and click CONNECT TO THE SELECTED NET at the bottom of the window

IF YOU WANT TO GO FURTHER

5. DOWNLOAD THE SERVER SOFTWARE >>> HERE.
6. INSTALL IT.
7. FIND YOUR COMPUTERS I.P. ADDRESS (with something like http://www.whatismyip.com/ ).
8. FIND YOUR COMPUTERS LOCAL ADDRESS (LIKE 192.168.0.44).
9. RUN FRN SERVER AND ENTER YOUR DETAILS (IMAGE SAMPLE BELOW).
10. USE THE SAME EMAIL AND PASSWORD DETAILS, THAT YOU USED FOR THE CLIENT, IN THE SERVER.

11. CONFIGURE YOUR ROUTERS PORT FORWARDING FOR YOUR COMPUTERS LOCAL ADDRESS AND PORT 10024
12. CONNECT (START) THE SERVER AND WAIT UNTIL IT IS ON LINE.
The next number has been intentionally missed out (I am not superstitious, I just don't like walking under black cats!).
14. START YOUR CLIENT
14. CONNECT TO YOUR SERVER AS FOLLOWS.....       server 127.0.0.1      port 10024       net  ROOM.

15. ONCE CONNECTED, OPEN THE SYSTEM EXPLORER, .
CHANGE THE BOTTOM NUMBER SHOW NETS WITH AT LEAST 02 CLIENTS TO 01
16. YOUR SERVER WILL NOW BE IN THE LIST.
17. IF YOU WANT TO CONNECT ANOTHER DEVICE ON YOUR NETWORK TO YOUR SERVER, YOU MUST USE THE LOCAL ADDRESS, I.E. 192.168.0.44, NOT THE SERVER ADDRESS. THE SERVER ADDRESS IS ONLY FOR CLIENTS OUTSIDE YOUR HOME NETWORK.
On-Line help is HERE just translate it as you need to
SIMPLES..........

P.S. If you wish to hide your I.P. address from the outside world, sign up to a free service like http://www.noip.com/free
this will mask your I.P. address to the outside world, you still use your LOCAL I.P. address on your network.

CROSS LINKING ZELLO AND FRN
N.B. using a stereo lead between MIC IN and SPEAKERS OUT does the same thing

but ties up your sound card

VB-CABLE Driver (Donationware)
this software will enable you to set up a crosslink between Zello and FRN

once you download and install the software
set up your Zello and FRN like in the pictures below

Courtesy, Switch and Squelch Settings

click on the padlock in Zello to initialise it

ALTERNATIVELY YOU CAN PURCHASE A VIRTUAL AUDIO APPLICATION
Virtual Audio Cable (VAC)
LINK HERE
Most of the website  is self explanatory but I have included some screenshots below to help

CROSS LINKING eQSO and ZELLO or FRN
Below....eQSO Gateway screenshot

Turn off all courtesy tones and announcements in BOTH Zello and eQSO/FRN
connect a stereo audio lead between speaker out and microphone in on your PC
adjust your levels accordingly

BELOW IS A SET OF IMAGES SHOWING HOW TO DO THIS WITH VIRTUAL AUDIO SOFTWARE
I HAVE ADDED THESE, BECAUSE IT TOOK ME AGES TO DO IT, HOWEVER, THE STEREO LEAD ABOVE
IS MUCH MUCH EASIER........

using virtual audio

using only onle line on virtual audio

using only one line on virtual audio

using only one line on virtual audio

muting the main PC speakers

vox levels, adjust accordingly
